Privacy policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This policy explains what MugLinks, a service by MugCode in Calgary, Alberta, collects and how it is used. It applies to bio.mugcode.ca and every page hosted on it.
What we collect
For account holders: your name, email address, username, password (stored only as a secure hash), and the content you add to your page, such as your bio, links and uploaded images. For visitors: standard server logs (IP address, browser type and the page requested), kept for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
To run your account and public page, send account emails such as verification and password resets, keep the service secure, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, a security token cookie, and a cookie that remembers your language. Your browser also stores your light/dark preference locally.
Advertising
Pages on the free plan show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com) and learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. Visitors in some regions are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown.
Payments
Pro subscriptions, and support that visitors send to creators, are processed by Stripe under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy). When a creator connects a payout account, we share their email and page address with Stripe, and Stripe collects their identity and bank details directly. MugLinks stores only the Stripe account ID and its status, never full card or bank numbers. When you support a creator, Stripe collects your card and email; we keep the amount and the optional name and message you enter, which are shown on the creator’s page until the creator hides them.
Public content
Everything you publish on your page, including your name, bio, photo and links, is visible to anyone with the link.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your account data while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and its content at any time, and we will remove it within 30 days, except where we must keep records by law.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and Alberta’s PIPA) you can ask to access or correct your personal information. Contact us through mugcode.ca.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
